BENEFITS OF DRIVING A HYBRID

Since 2005, Lexus has introduced both diesel and hybrid engine technologies into its range. These new powertrains should be of particular interest to company car drivers as they offer significant savings on Benefit In Kind (BIK) taxation in comparison to other premium products, whilst still offering exhilarating performance, exceptional refinement and complete luxury.

The GS 450h is powered intelligently by two sources, a compact and lightweight electric motor and a V6 petrol engine; Lexus Hybrid Drive. The world's first hybrid performance saloon comes with electronically controlled braking, 18" alloy wheels and the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system with many more advanced features provided as standard.

The full hybrid RX 450h features second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive technology ensuring seamless power, even more impressive fuel efficiency and emission levels unrivalled by any other vehicle in its class. By combining a 3.5-litre V6 Atkinson Cycle petrol engine with two high-output electric motors and an advanced compact battery, the RX 450h delivers the power and acceleration you would expect from a much larger engine and the emissions of a compact four-cylinder car. Maximum combined output is 299 DIN hp (220kW) while combined C02 emissions are just 148g per kilometre. This remarkable C02 figure means the RX 450h has BIK rate of only 14% (2009/10).
