RX: PERFORMANCE SUV

Lexus has a standard specification ahead of all its rivals and the cost comparisons against all-comers are even more advantageous. Depreciation on the RX 350 puts the SUV ahead of rivals such as the Land Rover Discovery and Mercedes-Benz M-class.

According to market experts CAP Monitor (April 2008) the RX 400h will retain 35-38% of its new price across the model range over three years/60,000 miles. With no direct competitors in the marketplace cost comparisons are difficult as one of the key advantages come in its low carbon dioxide emissions (192 g/km) putting it in the 23% benefit-in-kind tax sector in 2008/09. Key competitors such as the X5 3.0d SE (214 g/km) is in the 33% bracket for benefit-in-kind-tax, while the M-class ML 320 CDi SE and Land Rover Discovery 2.7 Td V6 SE are both above 225 g/km putting them in the top rate 35% bracket for benefit-in-kind-tax.
