RE-REGISTERING YOUR FOREIGN REGISTERED LEXUS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

If you wish to re-register your Lexus in the UK and your car is (a) currently registered in another Member State of the European Union and (b) was imported into the European Union by one of Toyota’s national sales and marketing companies, then you will need a European Community certificate of conformity (COC) for your car. This certificate provides a description of the base specification of a car and confirms that it meets certain European Community type approval requirements. Please note that COCs are not available for cars made before 1 January 1995 and for certain models made before 1 January 1996.

If you require a COC for your foreign registered Lexus then please contact the Lexus national sales and marketing company that imported your Lexus into the European Union. They should provide you with a COC for your car. They may charge for this service. If you do not have their contact details please visit www.lexus.eu for this information.

If you are member of the British Armed Forces who is based in Germany and want to re-register your British Forces Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) registered Lexus in the UK, then please complete the attached COC application form and submit it together with a copy of the second page of the V5 registration document for your car to:

If you are resident in the Isle of Man or Channel Islands and want to re-register your locally registered Lexus in the UK and your car was imported into the European Union by us, then please complete the attached COC application form and submit it to us together with a copy of the second page of the V5 registration document for your car as shown above.

If you are resident in the Isle of Man or Channel Islands and want to re-register your locally registered Lexus in the UK and your car was imported into the European Union by another one of Lexus’s national sales and marketing companies then you will need to contact them for a COC as explained above. They may charge for this service.

There is no charge by us for a COC if you are the original owner of your car as recorded in our records. If you are a subsequent owner, then there will be a charge of £62.50 plus VAT, which is payable by credit or debit card only once the COC is available for dispatch.

If you wish to re-register your foreign registered Lexus in the UK and your car that was not imported into the European Union by one of Lexus’s European national sales and marketing companies, then you will not be able to obtain a COC for your car because there will be none available. We may be able to provide you with a dating letter confirming the month and year of manufacture of you car. However, this will not be sufficient in itself to enable you to re-register your car in the UK. Please check with the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency.

If you require a dating letter then you should complete the attached dating letter application form and submit it together with a copy of the second page of the V5 registration document for your car to Corporate Compliance by post, email or fax as shown above. There will be a charge of £62.50 plus VAT, which is payable by credit or debit card only once the dating letter is available for dispatch.
