If you wish to re-register your UK registered Lexus in another Member State of the European Union and your car was imported into the United Kingdom by us, then you will need a European Community certificate of conformity (COC) for your car. This certificate provides a description of the base specification of a car and confirms that it meets certain European Community type approval requirements. Please note that COCs are not available for cars made before 1 January 1995 and for certain models made before 1 January 1996.
If you wish to re-register your UK registered Lexus in a country outside European Union and your car was imported into the United Kingdom by us, then you may need a COC for your car. In addition or alternatively, you may be required to submit a statement of compliance which states in greater detail the type approval requirements that your car meets. Please check with the relevant national authority.
If you require a COC please complete a COC application form and submit it together with a copy of the second page of the V5 registration document for your car to:
(1) Corporate Compliance, Lexus Division, Toyota (GB) PLC, Great Burgh, Burgh Heath, Epsom, KT18 5UX (if using post) or
(2) PID@tgb.toyota.co.uk (if using email) or
(3) 01737 367706 (if using a facsimile machine)
There is no charge for a COC if you are the original owner of your car as recorded in our records. If you are a subsequent owner, then there will be a charge of £62.50 plus VAT, which is payable by credit or debit card only once the COC is available for dispatch.
If you require a statement of compliance then you should make this clear when you submit your COC application form (if you also require a COC) or in a separate letter, email or fax (if you do not require a COC). Please remember to submit a copy of the second page of the V5 registration document at the same time. The cost of a statement of compliance is £62.50 plus VAT.
