Lexus’ leading edge Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system employs state-of-the-art technology to help reduce damage and injury where it calculates that a collision is inevitable.
A millimetre-wave radar sweeps the road ahead of the IS detecting obstacles and continuously calculating the risk of impact. If a collision is deemed unavoidable, Pre-Crash Brake Assist engages to provide maximum brake pressure and the Pre-Crash front seatbelts are automatically retracted to better restrain the driver and front passenger.
This, and a lower impact speed, can help reduce the risk of injury.
