V8 ENGINE

World-class V8 technology is the foundation for the new LS range. A 4.6-litre (375 bhp) is specified in the LS 460, while the LS 600h model features a 5.0-litre (389 bhp) version. Whichever V8 you choose, you’ll enjoy an engine of great power, efficiency and refinement.

A number of breakthrough technologies contribute to driving pleasure. D-4S direct fuel injection, dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) and Variable Valve Timing-intelligent Electric (VVT-iE) combine to ensure optimum engine performance.

Both V8 engines are exceptionally smooth. Each crankshaft is tested for spinning uniformity and polished by hand to improve running smoothness.

The LS 460 powers from 0 – 62 mph in just 5.7 seconds, while in the LS 600h the 5-litre V8 is supplemented by a high performance electric motor for breathtaking hybrid drive performance.
