Available with the world's most advanced pre-crash safety system, the LS can actively help avoid collision.

Millimetre-wave radar - front and back - can detect objects ahead or approaching from behind.

A stereo camera can identify objects with minimal radar reflection, like humans

and near infra-red projectors supplement the camera at night.

Inside the car, the driver monitoring system can alert the driver by buzzing and briefly applying the brakes

if an obstacle is detected and the driver's head is turned away from the road for too long.

When a potential hazard is detected ahead, and a high risk of collision is calculated, a warning buzzer is sounded and the brake alert sign appears.

Instantaneously, the brakes are primed and the suspension adjusted to cope with an evasive manoeuvre.

Also, emergency steering assist improves rapid steering responsiveness.

If the system deems a collision unavoidable, it automatically applies a degree of brake force and tightens the front seatbelts,

thereby dramatically reducing the speed of impact and the risk of injury.
