V6 ENGINE

The highly advanced 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine is integral to the full hybrid technology of the new RX 450h. The Atkinson cycle engine is tuned for energy efficient running and is supported by the electric motors whenever a boost in performance is required.

The high expansion ratio and innovative Exhaust Gas Recirculation significantly improves combustion efficiency, which in turn reduces fuel consumption and lowers emissions. Advanced Exhaust Heat Recovery uses waste exhaust heat to warm the V6 engine more quickly. These technologies enable the petrol engine to switch off earlier and more often. This increases the Electric Vehicle, zero emissions, driving potential of the full hybrid RX 450h.

Maximum power: 183 kW @ 6,000 rpm
Maximum torque: 317 Nm @ 4,800 rpm

Combined with the front and rear electric motors, total Lexus Hybrid Drive power output in the RX 450h is 299 DIN hp (220 kW) with just 145 g/km CO2.

NOTICE ON FUEL CONSUMPTION

Fuel consumption varies significantly depending on driving style, conditions, vehicle weight and speed. In order to allow consumers to make informed comparative choices between one vehicle and another, there is a European Commission standard (93/116/EC and 692/2008) to measure fuel consumption. This common standard must be adhered to by all manufacturers selling motor vehicles in the EU, and is the basis for the fuel consumption figures published by each manufacturer.
