WHIPLASH INJURY LESSENING SEATS

In the event of a rear impact, protection is provided by the Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) design of the front seats. The seat frames and head restraint have been carefully engineered to yield in a controlled fashion, thereby absorbing energy to reduce the whiplash-inducing movement between your head and torso.

The front seatbelts in the RX are fitted with pre-tensioners that instantly restrain the body in the event of an impact, and dual-stage front airbags for driver and front seat passenger provide supplemental protection in the event of a frontal impact.
