You will learn a combination of theory and practical skills covering all vehicle systems from brakes and suspension to drive train and engine management.
Lexus Vehicle Technicians carry out a variety of tasks. You will be trained to complete vehicle servicing and maintenance, component overhaul and how to use the latest diagnostic equipment to repair sophisticated electronic vehicle systems.
In the body shop you’ll be learning about all types of body repair work whilst getting hands on experience.
Body technicians repair customers’ vehicles when they have been damaged. Acquiring skills and knowledge, you will learn how to use the latest equipment and body repair techniques to restore even a badly damaged vehicle to original factory condition.
Here in the paint workshop you’ll be working in state of the art spray booths and mixing rooms.

Perhaps you're organised and good with numbers, or maybe you work well under pressure - either way an Advisor Apprenticeship with Lexus will help develop these skills.
The Service Advisor co-ordinates the movement of vehicles through the service centre. You will learn to liaise with customers regarding the progress of their vehicle through the centre, act as a link between the customer and service repair team and co-ordinate efficient workshop utilisation.
A Parts Consultant will co-ordinate all parts ordering and sales to ensure customers and technicians have the parts when they need them. You will learn to use the centres sophisticated computer system to log stock movements and produce orders, liaise with colleagues, deal with customer enquiries, both trade and retail, and develop skills to improve parts sales performance.

Are designed and delivered by professionals passionate about developing skills and knowledge. With up to 23 weeks, spread over 3 years, of residential training at our Academy in Nottingham, and monitoring and support in your local garage, you should gain sufficient skill and knowledge to be awarded an Advanced Apprenticeship Certificate.

Theory lessons are delivered in air conditioned fully resourced classrooms equipped with the latest SMART interactive white board.

|April - June||The Academy considers all applications, begins the selection process and recommends candidates to the centres.|
|July||The centre selects the most suitable candidate and makes offer of employment.|
|August||Apprentice commences work at centre.|
|September||Apprenticeship programmes begin at the Lexus Academy.|
|October - December||Academy training continues with visiting assessor support at work.|
Normally our apprenticeships last for three years.
Apprentices usually stay nearby in the Park Inn, Nottingham. If you live locally you'll have the option of travelling from home each day.
Our five apprenticeships are Advanced Apprenticeships and cover Parts Consultant, Service Advisor, Body Technician, Paint Technician and Service Technician. The professional qualifications vary depending on the apprenticeship you take and further details can be found above in the 'Academy Life' section.
You'll be employed at a local dealership to get practical experience of the motor trade and to work towards your qualification. You'll also attend training blocks at the Academy in Nottingham to further your theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Each apprentice is mentored by a Trainer and an Assessor.
Travel and accommodation are arranged and paid for by your centre (dealership). A bus service to and from the Academy is provided by the hotel. Breakfast and evening meals are included in the hotel costs and there are restaurant facilities at the Academy at lunchtimes and break times.
You will be paid a minimum of £3.30 per hour. If you work a normal 40 hour week you will be paid at least £132 each week during your first year.
The training for the qualification is based in Nottingham, at the Lexus National Academy. You will be employed by a garage and attend the Academy on block release; for example a service technician is for 2 weeks at a time.
The hotel is the Park Inn in Nottingham. The £49 per shared room is paid by the centre in most cases.
You will have to be employed by a centre before you can join the Apprentice Academy. The Academy has a recruitment section on the website, where as a prospective apprentice you can fill out an application form on the site and if there are vacancies in their area, we will let you know about the vacancy. You could also ask the local centre to see if they have any vacancies or view their website.
