RECALL INFORMATION Lexus place the highest importance of the quality of our vehicles and when this is not met we may conduct a product recall and if this happens you will be notified by letter.
Due to the Covid-19 situation, the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is pausing the requirement for manufacturers to complete vehicle recalls until further notice.
All current Lexus recall campaigns are precautionary. In normal circumstances we would look to complete any outstanding recall immediately.
At this time we must follow Government advice so this is not possible. Once this period ends, we will invite you to have the work completed.
You should remain confident to drive your Lexus, however, if you would like to discuss this please contact your Lexus centre .
The only exception is where a vehicle is subject to a “stop drive” recall. In this case we will contact you to arrange the work to be completed as a priority.
Currently Lexus have no “stop drive” recall campaigns.

As part of Lexus’s commitment to quality and safety, Lexus is expanding these recalls involving certain Takata airbag inflators in vehicles.
At Lexus, the safety of our customers is our number one priority, which is why we continually monitor the performance of our vehicles through a number of sources. If we become aware of a certain component or aspect of our vehicles that doesn’t meet our strict standards we will take appropriate action, as we have done in this instance.
THE VEHICLES INVOLVED IN EUROPE
The vehicles involved in Europe are the Lexus SC, IS, ES and GX produced between December 2000 and December 2011, as well as the Lexus ES 350, GX 460, IS Convert, IS 350/250, IS-F and the LFA between January 2009 and December 2013 for the airbag inflator.
HOW WE ARE SUPPORTING OUR CUSTOMERS
Customers will be contacted by each national distributor in the countries. Airbag inflator replacement will be performed at no charge to customers. In the meantime if you have any questions please contact your national distributor or alternatively please contact your local Lexus dealer.
THE REASONS FOR THESE RECALLS
In the involved vehicles a safety defect may arise in certain Takata air bag inflators due to inflator propellant degradation occurring after prolonged exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling. This may result in an inflator rupture when the air bag deploys.
