EMBRACE JAPANESE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND DESIGN
The UX Hybrid designers were inspired by Japanese Engawa architecture which is based on seamlessly connecting the interior with the exterior allowing a more harmonious coexistence with the environment. This is most noticeable in the driver’s seat where the instrument panel appears to continue through the windscreen into the bonnet.
This clever effect enables the driver to better sense the size of the vehicle which, combined with excellent front visibility, makes it easy to maneuver in the city.
The theme continues with ‘Takumi’-crafted ‘sashiko’ leather upholstery, a traditional Japanese stitching technique recognized for its strength and used in the manufacture of Judo and Kendo uniforms.
In Lexus, we have taken a contemporary twist on this classic technique, combining it with artistic patterns with geometric drafts.

*Figures are provided for comparability purposes; only compare fuel consumption and CO2 figures with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results. Fuel consumption and CO2 produced varies significantly depending on a number of factors, including the accessories fitted (post-registration), driving style, conditions, speed and vehicle load. All models and grades are certified according to the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), which replaces the New European Driving Cycle test procedure (NEDC). All CO2 figures quoted are NEDC equivalent. This means the CO2 figures are based on the new WLTP test procedure but calculated (using a standard European calculation method) to allow comparison with the NEDC test procedure and will be used to calculate vehicle tax on first registration. All mpg figures quoted are full WLTP figures. More information can be found by visiting: https://www.vehicle-certification-agency.gov.uk/fcb/wltp.asp
