In 2008, Usain Bolt burst onto the international sporting scene with his dramatic gold medal victory at the Beijing Olympic Games. Taking out first place in the prestigious 100-metre men’s sprint, Bolt even slowed down and smiled for the cameras before crossing the finish line in a world record-breaking 9.69 seconds – all with his left shoelace untied.
